Trip north to San Luis Obispo area

We decided to take an offer from Diamond Resorts to visit for 4 days and 3 nights in the San Luis Obispo/Avila Beach area. We were given a nice king bed suite at the Embassy Suites in SLO and had to go to a “presentation” at the Diamond Resort in Avila Beach. The visit was enjoyable and the “salesman” wasn’t too hard sell. In that area there are several nice beaches, including Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, and Morro Bay. We were treated to an Evening reception every night with free cocktails and a lovely full breakfast. One day we drove up to the winery area of Paso Robles and tasted some wine at Castoro Cellars.  Another day we drove to two beaches we hadn’t seen before:  Grover Beach and Oceano.  They both are ATV/dunes beaches and vehicles are allowed, for a fee.  There we ran across the unique eatery called Rock and Roll diner, made up of 2 train cars and an old tower house called Casa del Rey.  We always love seeing new things.  The weather was lovely and much cooler than down here in the Corona area (which currently is 100+ daily).  Also, there is a fire that is way too close in the Cleveland National Forest, west of us.  It seems that it is managed, at the moment.  Stay cool, everyone.  Wish some of you could share your rain!
