Another 7 day cruise to Mexican Riviera: Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, February 7-14. We had a balcony, but with obstructed view; the life boats were as high as the railing. Nice, to be able to sit outside, however. At the sailaway, we met with the 8 Cruise Critic members who were joining us on our Puerta Vallarta tour. We had organized it with the same tour guide/taxi driver that we had last year, Azael. After a day at sea, we arrived at Cabo San Lucas. Since we have been there many times, we decided to try something new, a glass bottom boat to the Land’s End. Wendy and Stewart, from Yorkshire, UK, joined us. They had “Your time dining” also, so we had several dinners together.
On this cruise, we had an overnight at Puerta Vallarta. Off the ship on Tuesday, at noon and didn’t leave until next day at 3 p.m. We did the tour the first day, including Chico’s Paradise, El Eden, a tequila factory and downtown Malecon. All, but the UK couple were from southern California. Good margaritas!
We were able to see several whales, one even breaching and another flipping his/her tail so hard that half the body came out. Also many dolphins. Most of our sightings were close to land and many near the two ports. We had fantastic weather the whole time, even cool in the evening at P.V. Next cruise will be on the Seabourn Quest!!
