April 27, Malaga tour

We took the city bus No. 110 from Carihuela to Malaga and then walked through the beautiful botanical gardens in the middle of Paseo del Parque.  Then, we paid a taxi to go to the top of the mountain for the Castillo del Gibralfaro.  This castle was built in 1333 by a Moorish leader.  The name comes from 2 words meaning mountain and lighthouse.  We enjoyed the museum and views of the city and port.  JoAnn went to the top part of the wall and Jim and I did some of the stairs and paths, etc.  THEN….. we walked down.  Knew it would be hard, but did not imagine how steep the path was.  It was actually scary to me and very tough on Jim’s ankle, knee, etc.  He used his cane, went slow and took many breaks and accomplished it!!  Not really too sore after!!  At one point, a lady offered to help him, he said, “I don’t know how you could.”  I said send positive thoughts.
